This review has been a bit of a pain to write, firstly it has been difficult to vocalise what i think as everytime i looked at it i have had a serious case of writers block.
Secondly i finished the draft and then deleted it by accident. Whoopsie!!!
So here goes, this will be a very different review to the one i wrote before.

Angels of Atlantis is an Oracle deck which i was gifted. At the time i had recieved several syncronisities about Atlantis so it felt right to accept the gift. I just want to learn, and fill my little head with all sorts of information.

The Author is Stewart Pearce.
Besides spiritual work Stewart Pearce is described as Legandary Master of Voice, Voice Alchemist & Angel Emmisary. He has worked for The Shakespear Globe Theatre and also was Head of voice at Webber (as in Andrew Lloyd) and looks a little bit like News Anchor Anderson Cooper.
Enigmatic.
Someone who knows how to talk..

Box
The box is really well made, very sturdy and comes as a base and a top. It's very shiny but it's also very tight, which makes it really difficult to open. Every single time i go to use the cards i spend ages trying to shake it open, so this could have been something they thought about as some people have problems with their hands and it's not that user friendly.

The Oracle comes with a small book. Which starts off explaining how the Author came to make the oracle as a system of healing etc, and how to use them etc
Nothing remarkable about the book but the messages associated with the meanings of the cards are very uplifting to be honest.

I was a bit disappointed with the lack of Atlantis and Archangel info, it states the specific role of Angels but no Angelology. Which I feel is a bit of a missed opportunity to talk about both.

Cards
The cards are pretty good quality but they are covered in the same shiny plastic finish as the box, which makes them a little bit sticky when i'm trying to shuffle. It's a pet hate of mine. Very durable but sticky... Urgh.

There are 12 Archangels with 44 cards split between them all. With messages such as Meditation, Abundance, Friendship, Patience, Communion etc etc etc.
I think as a simple form of guidance this is ok and if this is your first Oracle deck i would hope this is a stepping stone to something else.

The imagery is a simple premise, Angels are represented as Orbs above Images with galactic backgrounds. So there isn't much to say about it in that respect.

Some of them resonate with me, others do not. A lot of them have imagery from all over the world, art and all sorts of things. Here are a few examples.

Pyramids and Atlantis?

Glastonbury Tor, now that has a different spiritual significance all of it's own.

Mecca? Hold on a minute

Sufi dancers?

Sistine Chapel and Sacred Geometry?

I feel like this could have been Abundance

But this is Abundance

I understand why Buddha may be used to signify Meditation. But still, I'm not sure it belongs.

In Conclusion

I feel this is a total mish mash of cultures, people, concepts but It is Atlantis in name only.

I really wanted more from this deck. I mentioned that I didn't get enough from the Atlantis point of view from the book, but I also tried to do a deep dive and research the link between Archangels and Atlantis (I often do this with Everything, I absolutely love knowledge, I'm here to learn) and strangely enough, the books and articles relating to the matter can all be pretty much led back to this same Author.

I've no doubt there are mediums that are tapping in to the knowledge of Atlantis, but i do not believe this is it.
Also, apart from the mush of cultures and concepts the Artwork is simply lazy. I want to feel the deck, the real connection. But anyone can get a bunch of stock photos and put them together to make a card. Without any thoughts for how appropriate this could be.
It's Fast food spirituality.

Once again I view a deck that is out there just to make money when people need these for real spiritual guidance or help with clients.
For me this is a total Drag.

Comments

  1. LOL! I think I understand your disconnect here: If there is a connection between Atlantis and the Judeo-Christian Archangels, then that connection needs to be made, and the explanatory material is the perfect place to do so. I can also see that a connection needs to be made between the images, the captions, and the angels. Hey, I could probably do it, but this creator obviously didn’t take the time to do it. Oh well, what a drag.

Vivid Spirit Tarot - A very painful ordeal

Hey Folk This review is a little different to my normal reviews, in the sense that I don't actually have the deck I want to review.  From what I thought would simply be an easy process, turned into an absolute fucking knigtmare which is still on going.  So i pre-ordered this deck back in August 2020 Which was meant to be released April 2021. No issue here I've pre-ordered before.  I said "NO ISSUE"..... Which are the famous last words... Then a few months later I noticed that the listing had gone, no pic nothing.  Which is unusual for Etsy because with Pre-Orders the listing stays. I was a little worried about this so I contacted them via email and the creator got straight back to me via Etsy Messenger.  Absolutely no issue, great communication and I was happy with that.  Time went on and I realised that my old surname was still on the order and it was close to printing, so I contacted them.  ...

Aquarian Tarot

Title: Aquarian Tarot Artist: David Palladini Price Range: £14 / $19 - £19 / $29 Dimensions: 6.99 x 3.18 x 10.16 cm Publisher: US Games Date: Originally published 1970 Style: Art Nouveau & Art Deco Hey folk, it's been a hot minute hasn't it!! My apologies things are a little bit intense my end so my review writing has had to slow down for the meantime. Heavy studying to become a qualified teacher, and unfortunately the loss of my best friend Katherine of 22 years.  So I'm trying to get back to normal now, please bear with me. Thank you for staying and to my new followers thank you for joining. So, I LOVE Art Nouveau and Art Deco. They're both two of my favourite art styles, with their thick lines and definitive (Sometimes dramatic) styles. Naturally I've got my eye on a few different decks, Aquarian was one of them!  Whilst I'm always on the hunt for Diverse decks, I still appreciate the art of certain times because I understand the world was wha...

The Rider Waite - Centennial Edition

Title: The Rider Waite Alt Names: Smith-Waite,  Waite-Smith ,  Rider-Waite-Smith ,  Rider tarot deck Artist: Pamela Coleman Smith, commissioned by Mystic Arthur Edward Waite.  Dimensions: Various  Publisher: Various Date: 1909 Style: Ye Olde  Hype or Drag: Ye Olde HYPE  Google stock photo The most popular deck The Rider Smith-Waite is considered the blue print deck, the ultimate deck. It is very popular and it is every fucking where but is it the best deck? A little History A lot of cards on the market are inspired by this deck, almost all use similar imagery to convey the meanings associated with the deck. Although it IS the Blueprint for a lot of decks it was ONLY actually designed in 1909. Which means it's still relatively new when you consider that the court cards were being used as tarot from 1440 onwards, the Marseilles tarot (which is an even older blueprint), not the Smith-Waite. If we want to go back further there is evidence ...
