Let's take a look at this little find!
Healing not Broken comes from Nebraska, and is the Deck baby of Britanni Zahourek.
The deck is 42 cards of inspiring quotes, coupled with fitting artwork. The artist exclaims that this deck was originally made simply for herself, as she battled her own mental health. Eventually she decided to help others, and as such the deck was made available for all.
Before I continue I'd like you to know that this deck is 100% Hand made. So unlike Hay House etc I am not going to hold them to a commercialised standard. As Britanni quite literally makes them all by hand.
Box
The box is sturdy and made from recycled cardboard. It is a one piece which I expect from handmade products to be honest.
Cards
Card stock is a bit on the thin side but that's OK, because this is not the kind of deck I personally would bend, In the same way I would Tarot.
That being said it is not bad quality even though it is thin. The finish is silky and slightly shiny.
Inside the first thing you see is this very personal introduction to the deck, which brings us closer to the humanity needed when we are dealing with our own mental health. There is also a card on how she uses her own deck.
Imagery and messages
The imagery is quite colorful. But mostly this deck is just very thoughtful.
With all the messages you would need to hear if you have ever been trapped within your own thoughts.
It feels like a hug at a well needed time.
With reminders that what you are going through is only temporary.
This deck is ideal for journaling as it also has some cards that you can use as simple prompts, or include in your Gratitude or Meditation Practice.
1 card I have removed
So I'm honest right, and I prefer to be. I'd be a liar if I said this deck was perfect. But it is something I can live with.
This card here, I have removed it from the deck. Why you ask?
In my life I've put myself in situations, chased people or made excuses for people who have damaged my own mental health.
This has been friends, and it has been in romantic relationships. One relationship so toxic that my mental health took the biggest beating of my entire life and i almost never recovered. Over the years I had let people use me and I still chased them for their interest.
All for the sake of feeling something, or i thought I did.
Over the years I've learnt not to chase people who don't value you, yes it's hard because it feels unfair to be treated as such, especially when you are doing your best.
Dear reader, self respect, self love, self worth are everything. If someone makes you beg for the bare minimum of decency then they are not for you.

To Conclude
Healing not Broken is a lovely deck, it's soft and kind. When I bought it last year I really got to know it and it was a big help through covid when I had any down spells.
I bought it just before I had made a conscious decision to change the way I buy my decks. With absolute diversity in mind. Some people may think this is a little Eurocentric in some of the design, but when viewing this personal deck you need to remember that Britanni made this purely for herself, she didn't make it for us. She chose to share it with us.
For that I actually think it's actually very brave.
I sometimes use this deck as part of my readings at the end. As an optional Affirmation from spirit to the client, as I do my readings for people in two parts.
(The message - Tarot / The Soul - Oracle) i feel that compliments the reading and just gives some love for someone to take away with them.
Please remember, that as lovely as Affirmation decks are. They are no substitute for talking to someone who can support you or hug you, or seeing a Mental Health professional. What they do is kindly remind us that we are beings of love who from time to time need a kind word to help us on our sometimes difficult journey of life.
